Why does colour damage the hair?
Hair naturally has an acid pH. Hair dye has an alkaline pH, so it opens the hair scales, making the hair fibre more sensitive and less smooth.
How can you ensure lasting hair colour?
By using a specialist routine to help the hair scales lie flat. You should also wash your hair less frequently and protect coloured hair from elements that can cause it to fade, like the sun, chlorine and salt water.
Why is my colour tone changing?
Because of oxidation caused by your environment (UV rays, pollution, chlorine etc. ) and repeated washing. And also because by dying your hair you make the hair fibre more sensitive and your hair becomes less able to hold the pigments.
What makes coloured hair dry?
