The formula
The Apple pip extract is obtained from apples grown in France. The pips come from a recovery channel: they are retrieved, washed and recovered for their cosmetic benefits, after pressing apples to produce fruit juice.
The Chlorella extract is obtained from a freshwater micro-alga. The micro-alga is reproduced and multiplied by biotechnology in a closed system, which avoids harvesting it from its natural environment and also guarantees its reproducibility.
The Shea butter selected by Sisley is obtained by hot-pressing Shea nuts from Burkina Faso. It comes from a fair trade channel: the nuts are only harvested once the fruit has fallen to the ground to respect the tree’s natural cycle; the kernels are dried traditionally in the sun; and the work of collecting and turning them into butter is done by women, who thus earn their own income and enjoy a certain measure of financial independence.
