Eau du Soir Limited Edition

by Ymane Chabi-Gara

Artist Ymane Chabi-Gara has brought her work “One Day Painting 2” to this Eau du Soir Limited Edition, where the piece’s unexpected contrast echoes the fragrance’s unique notes – a blend of fresh citrus fruits and sensual florals swept up in a chypre whirlwind.

Sisley and art – made for each other

Art is one of the cornerstones of Sisley’s creations. The brand’s founders, Isabelle and Hubert d'Ornano, have always surrounded themselves in art in all shapes and sizes. Every year, Sisley seeks out a new artist to decorate the Eau du Soir Limited Edition, deepening its already strong ties to art. The d’Ornano family also shows its affinity for the field through a wider range of commitments that include the Trois-Cinq Friedland cultural programme and the Sisley Jeune Création award, which supports young contemporary artists.

Ymane Chabi-Gara trained at the Beaux-Arts de Paris, graduating in 2020. Her work has been recognised by the prestigious International Takifuji Art Awards and the Sisley Jeune Création award. In her pieces, the painter examines loneliness, solitude, social status and the relationship between our bodies and the world.

Her work “One Day Painting 2”, which adorns the 2023 Eau du Soir Limited Edition, combines fragments of realistic images with a variety of painting techniques and textures, creating a dialogue between lines, colours, structures and movement.

Sisley launched Eau du Soir in 1990. It was designed by Hubert d’Ornano for his wife Isabelle, who grew up in Andalusia surrounded by the scent of Syringa. He took this note as the starting point for a unique chypre composition, giving it the traditional sensual yet elegant accords. Since then, Eau du Soir has become a timeless fragrance.

The fragrance’s cap, designed by sculptor Bronislaw Krzysztof and inspired by one of his works, adds to the essence’s poetry.

Since then, many artists have left their mark on the iconic bottle.
