Prepare your lips: skincare before makeup

To ensure full colour intensity and a flawless finish, the first step is to make sure your lips are smooth, moisturised, and thoroughly cleansed.

While applying makeup to the rest of your face, leave the Phyto-Lip Balm in shade 1 Cloud on your lips. It will drench them with moisture and get them ready for lipstick.

How to apply lip makeup for a plumped up look

By combining precise application with the right products, your lips can achieve a visibly fuller yet natural look.

1 - Using the Phyto-Lèvres Perfect pencil and its precise lead, redefine the contours of your lips by drawing slightly outside your natural lip line around your Cupid's bow and in the centre of your lower lip. The aim is not to make your lips bigger, but to give them a more contoured shape.

2 - Then create volume by applying a shade of lipstick lighter than the pencil to the centre of the lips. You can also play with finishes by choosing a glossy finish like that of the Phyto-Rouge Shine, which catches the light.

3 - Then gently blend the two shades starting from the outside and working toward the inside of your lips and using the brush end of the Phyto-Lèvres Perfect.

How to apply makeup to correct asymmetrical lips

The aim is to naturally reshape lips to make them even, not to completely change their shape.

1 - With the lead end of the Phyto-Lèvres Perfect pencil and using a shade close to that of your lips, follow your natural lip contour and fill in the area(s) that need to be corrected using small strokes.

2 - Then apply a glossy finish lipstick such as Phyto-Rouge Shine, which will catch the light, blur imperfections and plump up your lips.

How to apply lip makeup for a natural result

The secret to enhancing the natural beauty of your lips lies in choosing the right colour and finish. With a pencil or directly from the bullet, follow the exact natural contour of your lips making sure you do not exceed it. Opt for a tone-on-tone shade that blends with your complexion to subtly bring out its radiance.

Choose a comfortable, satin finish, like that of the Phyto-Rouge. This lipstick delivers a luminous wash of colour and envelopes lips in a thin, smoothing and sculpting film that leaves them softer, fuller, and visibly refined.

Matte, satin or glossy, which lipstick finish will you choose?

Choosing a lip finish is above all a matter of self-expression. The bold matte of Phyto-Rouge Velvet or the delicate shine of Phyto-Rouge Shine can define a look, a mood or a fleeting desire.

The matte finish sheathes lips in intense colour and, through an optical effect, can visually sculpt and redefine the volume of even the fullest lips. Its impeccably long wear makes it ideal for special evening occasions and days when every detail counts.

Conversely, a glossy or satin finish plays with light to create a volumising, sculpting effect. The Phyto-Rouge lipstick collection lets you explore different possibilities and is an invitation to reveal all facets of your personality.

Expert's tip for making lipstick last longer

Our makeup artists’ tip is to press a tissue between your lips just after applying the lip pencil to absorb any excess product, then repeat the process once you have applied lipstick for a long-lasting effect.
