Leslie Dumeix: reveal, don’t transform
From magazine covers to red carpets, Leslie Dumeix has always cultivated an approach to make-up in which the skin and light take centre stage. As a new addition to Sisley's Artist in Residence programme, she promotes an intuitive, modern philosophy: enhancing without concealing.

Who is Leslie Dumeix?
A French make-up artist based in Paris, Leslie Dumeix has been working with top models and actresses, including Soo Joo Park, Camille Cottin and Bérénice Bejo, for over 10 years. She regularly creates memorable looks for the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival and for the fashion and beauty pages of magazines.
She has been fascinated by beauty since childhood, and recalls: “I wanted to apply make-up every chance I got. I loved highlighting others and immortalising it through photography.”
Her signature? Make-up that reveals rather than conceals.
“Make-up is a form of self-expression that speaks for itself. One day it can be soft and fresh, then bold and powerful the next – each version has its place.”

A shared vision of beauty
It was during a photoshoot for Black Rose Eye Contour Fluid starring Poppy Delevingne that Leslie Dumeix discovered Sisley. She immediately fell in love with the radiant make-up finish and the easy-to-blend textures that ensure perfect application.
As a make-up artist who puts the skin at the heart of each of her creations, Sisley formulas, enriched with skincare ingredients, make all the difference: “Sisley is one of the few luxury brands with which I see visible benefits on my clients’ skin after use.”
These are just some of the reasons why this collaboration is a natural fit.

Beauty Q&A with Leslie Dumeix
How do you elegantly redraw the lip contour?
“Choose the right colour and don’t go too far beyond the natural lip line. Just go a little beyond, with a shade one tone darker than your natural lip colour.”
How do I find the right shade of foundation?
“The first thing to do to choose the right shade is to identify your skin’s undertone: warm, neutral or cool. But the easiest way is to try it directly on your cheek: if the shade is too light, it will leave a white mark, and if it’s too dark, a brown mark. But if the shade disappears, it’s the right one!”
Which eyeshadows best suit which eye colour?
“For blue eyes, I would choose orange and brown tones. For green eyes, peach and aubergine tones. Brown eyes are easier because most colours suit them! But I like to start from the principle that there are no rules with make-up: you can have fun and play with colours, whatever the colour of your eyes.”
