Our Alpine Lavender extract comes from flowers produced in the South-East of France and dried naturally. Particular attention is paid to each step, from growing the plant to producing the extract.
In this respect, the plants are watered solely with rainwater and the flowers harvested at the end of the flowering period, when bees have stopped gathering nectar. The stems are also cut with care to encourage their natural regeneration.
Our Nasturtium flower extract is obtained from flowers grown in France.
The Shea butter selected by Sisley is obtained by hot-pressing Shea nuts from Burkina Faso. It comes from a fair trade channel: the nuts are only harvested once the fruit has fallen to the ground to respect the tree’s natural cycle; the kernels are dried traditionally in the sun; and the work of collecting and turning them into butter is done by women, who thus earn their own income and enjoy a certain measure of financial independence.
The Virgin Plum kernel oil comes from a channel that recovers the stones from Agen prunes. It is extracted in France by cold-pressing kernels from the food industry.
Our Hazelnut oil is obtained by cold-pressing hazelnuts grown and harvested in France.
The Padina pavonica extract comes from harvesting this brown alga, also known as Peacock’s tail. The Padina pavonica used for our extract is grown in the Mediterranean. It is gently harvested by hand to avoid the use of any machines likely to damage the marine ecosystem. This harvesting is done when the alga has well-developed thalli, which contributes to their natural regeneration, year after year.
Our Einkorn Wheat extract comes from seeds organically grown in France. The plant waste generated by the extraction is recovered: it is recycled at a local farm and used as animal feed.
The “Black Baccara” Black Rose chosen by Sisley is grown in Anjou in the west of France. This local production ensures total traceability from field to flower and the support of a local supply channel.
