The ocean as a discipline
Born in Lisbon, with German, Swiss, and Portuguese roots, Nic von Rupp developed a profound understanding of movement from a very young age. After initially specialising in classic competition circuits, he chose to devote himself to the most extreme waves, such as Nazaré, Jaws and Mullaghmore. Wherever nature runs riot, he seeks control of it. Von Rupp is a multiple award-winner and has established himself as one of the leading figures in big wave surfing. He also made a name for himself in the Emmy Award-winning documentary series 100 Foot Wave, produced by HBO.
