The process of optimisation under the Double HQE ®

Work conditions

- Accessible and comfortable facility (parking spaces, cafeteria, and other infrastructures)
- Visual comfort, all offices feature natural light and soundproofing (windowed areas with access to natural light, movable partitions, soundproofing, etc. ...)

Resources and energy

- Reduction in energy demands (exterior insulation, dual-flow ventilation, timed heating, cooling, and ventilation schedule, exterior blinds…)
- Reduction in the consumption of potable water, including rainwater management with harvesting for the watering of plants.
- Optimization of lighting needs (low-energy use lighting, motion detectors…)

Architectural and landscape quality

- 2,000 trees were planted on the site
- Pleasant exterior spaces, minimizing the impact on the neighboring area

The Saint-Ouen l’Aumône Center for Research and Cultivation was unveiled in January 2011 and is a first in France as it takes part in a High Quality Environmental (HQE) certification process, for both its offices and its logistics hubs.


Independent of the HQE certification, the Saint-Ouen l’Aumône site has integrated on its roofs the largest solar power station in the region north of the Loire. Over the entire 36,000 m2 of the warehouse’s roof, it is connected to the Energie de France power company network and has a full bituminous waterproofing system with integrated photovoltaic cells: 6,556 photovoltaic modules made up of solar cells.

The power station’s energy production projections are estimated at 726 megawatts/year, covering 100% of the offices’ net energy consumption (25% of the site’s net energy consumption). This is a savings of 44 tons of CO2 emissions per year.


Designed according to the highest standards in terms of quality control, the Blois factory conforms to European and American requirements and is today one of the most modern facilities of its generation. This voluntary undertaking is, each year, rewarded by ISO 14001 (environment) and OHSAS 18001 (health, hygiene, safety) certifications. For example, in the year 2011 alone, the factory reduced water and energy consumption by nearly 9%. 1,600 trees were planted on the site.
